Discarded packaging recycled into renaissance costumes by Suzanne Jongmans

Dutch artist Suzanne Jongmans gives new life to discarded packaging and non-recyclable industrial materials – such as polystyrene and bubble wrap – transforming them into renaissance-themed costumes. This is a project titled Mind over Matter, in which the artist takes inspiration from the clothing and the aesthetic of Flemish painting masters of that time – such as Rogier Van der Weyden, Rembrandt, and Hans Holbein – to create this fascinating portrait series.
